I’m Lisa, owner of Bonfire Bookkeeping.

My goal is to make it as easy as possible to have your business financials in order each month.

We will use technology together to snap pictures of your receipts, automate sending your bank statements, and become audit proof all at the same time!

Who I Am:

When I dreamt of what I wanted to be when I grew up I always thought I was going to be a doctor, or a pediatric nurse, or something in the medical profession. I don’t mind blood and although I have a pretty dramatic personality I’m surprisingly good in an emergency. However, as I got older and I realized how difficult medical school was going to be I changed my tune. After high school I wasn’t sure what to do, so I ended up working for a big box store until it crushed my spirit, and I decided to go back to school. I still wanted to work with people and “heal” them somehow, so I chose to take courses with a focus on psychology and then a diploma at the Vancouver College of Counsellor Training. I took a job to help pay the bills while I was enrolled in the courses, and accidentally fell in LOVE with bookkeeping! Head over heels! I was lucky enough to have an incredible mentor to show me everything from the ground up, and then I worked closely with an accountant in the same office which gave me new insight on the same work. It was fascinating!

During that time I met and married my husband, Ryan, and we have two kiddos that keep us on our toes. We are living in the same town we both grew up and met in, and although life is always crazy we are really happy!

Eventually, I was laid off, and seized the opportunity to open my own business! Now I am so grateful to have the opportunity to work with other small business owners helping them #knowtheirnumbers and using financial statements to help them make business decisions. Cloud accounting has completely changed the way I run my business and I try to harness that power to make everything I can easier for business owners.

What I do:

I organize, systemize, and create efficiencies for my clients at Bonfire Bookkeeping.

I present to start up companies to speak about how bookkeeping is an integral part of being a business owner, and how to do it with a shoestring budget.
